Experiencing back pain that travels down your leg, tingling, numbness or pain that becomes worse with certain movements?
These symptoms can sometimes occur when a spinal nerve is irritated or compressed. A herniated/slipped disc is one possible cause.
Treatment depends on the symptoms, examination findings and severity of nerve involvement. Importantly, not every slip disc requires surgery, and conservative treatment may be appropriate in many cases.
Persistent or progressive symptoms should be appropriately evaluated.
